I’m definitely not saying that you need to go out and buy Amerelle brand switch plates.  Amerelle just happened to be the best choice for me because of it’s availability and price.  I found Amerelle switch plate covers at Home Depot.  They have a huge variety of Amerelle switch plate covers.  Another great thing about Home Depot was that it was only a few minutes away from my home.

I had found Amerelle brand switch plates at Walmart when trying to find the cheapest price. I was disappointed to find that while  they were a bit cheaper there, the selection wasn’t as good as at Home Depot.  I wanted a better selection of switch plates so I could use the same brand throughout my house.  That way I could use different styles of switch plates but they would be uniform in look.

I was happy to find the Amerelle offered switch plates in so many different styles and options.  They had wood, plastic, metal and a variety of decorative switch plates.  It was nice that I could have a choice for my daughters pink room and also for my newly remodeled kitchen.  They come in all sorts of colors in each of the material types of metal, plastic and wood.

Needless to say, I found what I was looking for and it turned out very nice for me.  Amerelle Switch Plates made decorating a bit easier and fun for me.

Why would people do such a thing?  His is my opinion on why people do this.  They simply don’t think outside the box.  Everywhere you go, there are the plain white wall switch plate covers.  I honestly believe that a lot of people think that is all you can buy.  If you were to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s, 95% of the switch plates are the plain white or tan plastic wall switch plate covers.  So if they get educated, how much better off would a room be with red switch plates or any other color for that matter? I’m not saying that white is always a bad choice since many homes have white baseboards and they want them to match. 

Another theory about people buying the cheap switch plates is to save money.  This is one thing that I simply don’t understand.  People will spend thousands of dollars on a kitchen remodel and try to skimp on the switch plates.  What on earth are they thinking? If they were to spend a little more money, they could completely get a much better look.  For example, if someone had a travertine tile backsplash, how much better would a stone switch plate look versus a plain white one?  A thousand times better.  They just spent ten grand on new cabinets but can’t afford to spend extra money on something that would tie the whole remodel together.

OK, so Red Switch Plates might not be the perfect choice for your home. What I’m trying to get at is one, there are hundreds of choices out there, so  think outside of the box.  And two, spend a little extra and complete the look that you are going for.  You won’t regret it.

Here are some choices that you could make when it comes to a ceramic switch plate cover.  If you are the outdoor enthusiast, you could buy a ceramic switch plate with an outdoor scene painted on it.  There are different ceramic switch plates that have animals such as moose, bears or fish just to name a few.  There are just too many outdoor themed ceramic switch plates to mention.  If you can imagine it, it is probably out there.

If you want to decorate your child’s room, then a ceramic light switch cover is perfect for you.  There are Disney themed covers that are ceramic.  You can always find the latest cartoon characters or the classic characters too.  There are clown covers and regular aminals such as cats and dogs.  There will always be a perfect ceramic switch plate to fit your child’s room.

Let’s say that you have a modern themed home.  Plain white switch plates aren’t for you.  The best option for you would be to buy one of the vast choices of  modern ceramic switch plates.  If you have a country themed room, try one of the many cow or chicken design ceramic switch plate covers. There are the beautiful flower design ceramic switch plates for any traditional home.
